President John Dramani Mahama has assured nursing trainees at the Nalerigu College of Nursing and Midwifery that their long-awaited monthly allowances will soon be disbursed, with arrears from January to June fully settled.
Speaking during his Thank You Tour of the North East Region on Friday, June 13, 2025, the President announced that the government has finalised plans to automate the allowance disbursement process, ensuring regular and timely payments moving forward.
“We have designed it such that your payment will come automatically every month so that there will be no arrears,” President Mahama stated.
He acknowledged previous delays but reassured trainees that the allowances were already accounted for in the 2025 budget, and beneficiaries would begin receiving payments next month.
“The budget was made from January, and so when we start paying you next month, the arrears from January to June will be paid to you,” Mahama affirmed.
Nursing trainees are therefore urged to keep their fingers crossed as the Ministry of Finance and the necessary agencies work to ensure the timely disbursement of allowances in the coming weeks.
