The Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment has announced the immediate suspension of the Central Management System (CMS) used by the National Service Authority (NSA) to administer postings for service personnel.
This directive, issued by the Office of the President, is aimed at facilitating an in-depth technical and forensic assessment of the CMS platform.
The CMS has played a pivotal role in coordinating deployments and validations of National Service Personnel across the country.
However, recent concerns relating to system transparency, data security, and operational reliability have prompted urgent governmental intervention.
In the statement dated 18th June, 2025, the Ministry explained that this decisive step has been taken in the national interest to allow for a comprehensive technical and forensic review of the platform.
The Ministry emphasized that steps are already in motion to ensure service continuity.
Alternative digital tools and manual verification methods are being reviewed and tested to support the NSA’s operations without compromising accuracy or efficiency.
“The Ministry wishes to assure the general public, especially National Service Personnel and stakeholders, that measures are being put in place to ensure that the operations of the Authority are not disrupted. Alternative systems and verification procedures are being reviewed to maintain smooth and transparent service delivery”
“We urge all National Service Persons and the general public to remain calm and cooperative with the relevant institutions to undertake the necessary actions to safeguard the integrity of the National Service Authority, the statement concluded.
