The Ghana Education Service (GES) has finalised preparations for the recruitment of 2023 graduate teachers from the various public Colleges of Education and is now awaiting financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance.
This development was confirmed during a high-level engagement between the leadership of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) and the Director-General of GES, Prof. Frank Kofi Davis, on June 2, 2025.
Led by TTAG President H.E. Razak Soale, the delegation met with senior GES officials, including the Head of Legal Affairs, Internal Auditor, Head of Public Relations, and the General Secretary, to discuss the status of postings for the graduate teachers.
The Director-General assured TTAG that GES has completed and submitted the full recruitment budget covering all qualified graduates.
“GES has prepared and submitted the full recruitment budget covering all graduate teachers from the public Colleges of Education,” Prof. Davis stated.
“The budget has been successfully defended and approved by the Ministry of Finance and the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education. The process is currently awaiting financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance, after which GES will commence recruitment and posting,” he added.
He emphasised his dedication to conducting a smooth and transparent process (recruitment), particularly as this marks his first recruitment exercise as Director-General.
TTAG expressed appreciation for the Director-General’s proactive approach but urged the relevant authorities to expedite the financial clearance.
“We call on the Ministry of Finance to act with urgency to finalise this process so graduates can be posted without further delays,” TTAG President Razak Soale emphasised.
The association has vowed to continue engaging stakeholders to facilitate the process.
“We remain committed to keeping the 2023 graduates informed and advocating for their timely recruitment,” TTAG assured.
TTAG has urged all graduates to stay calm as efforts continue to ensure swift postings, reaffirming its dedication to securing a resolution.
